A new search engine’s in town - SearchBigDaddy. Interesting to see that they’re using internet marketing methods with a hint of MLM (basically a method to get viral growth of affiliates) to get the message around. I’m getting emails left and right about this, urging me to join. I deliberately ignored it for a few days until my curiosity peeked and I checked it out. Didn’t do anything about it until the third time that I looked. I thought “let’s give it a try”.
I joined.
I searched.
I liked what I saw, I started to earn some dollars!
Within a week I clocked up over $540 worth of PPC (pay per click) credits! I can promote my products and websites on their search engine for free as long as I continue to use their search engine.
Apparently they pull the majority of their results from DMOZ, just like the rest of the majors out there. A quick test confirms the results are very similar with Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Once you join, you get your own portal to search from. (Tip: get your family and friends to use your personal portal - or better yet, get them to sign up under you). You get $50 in PPC credits. You also get 3 free banner positions to use and a *top* listing for your specific keyword.
Will this last? I don’t know. All I know is that getting in first with any potentially viable business launched benefits those early on. The model may change, they may lower or stop the amount you earn for each search you do, I don’t know. But I’m enjoying this right now. Haven’t made any sales yet, but it’s still early on.

***UPDATE***
SearchBigDaddy has been having some ‘teething’ problems lately, no doubt over the much over hyped hysteria on promotion, …but they have been keeping us informed of updates and been giving us free $ credits.
Currently my total credits is a massive $2331.00, and that’s partly due to me not using it (setting up ppc campaigns).
This search engine seems to have ’settled’ as I have not noticed any more outages.
